The film A Nightmare on Elm Street premiered in 1984, starring Robert Englund as Freddy Kreuger, Heather Langenkamp as Nancy Thompson, (final girl) and Johnny Depp as Glen Lantz. Freddy Krueger was a child murderer that was burned to death by the parents of Springwood. Years later, he comes back as something different, something more sinister and evil. He found another way to get to the children, through their dreams. Freddy wanted to make the parents suffer and take his revenge by killing all their children, but with him being dead, there was only one w+ay to do that. Killing them in their dreams.
However, one in particular, Nancy, knew there was more to what was happening and knew her friends didn't just die by probable cause, and with no one believing her, she took matters into her own hands. He used razor knives that he had made onto a glove as his weapon of choice. The film grew to spawn an entire series, with a crossover in 2003 with Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th) and a remake in 2010, ending and resulting in a nine film franchise.
A Nightmare on Elm Street was one of the first Horror movies I ever watched, even though it scared the hell out of me. I love the original one, it was always an iconic, timeless classic, and I do love some of the sequels, but some are also very bad. I overall give A Nightmare on Elm Street 5/5 stars!
